GENERAL INFORMATION

Rationale

We want communication with parents to be as open, regular and informative as possible. We want parents and children to feel welcome and comfortable in their new environment.

Procedures

Please remember to sign your child in and out each day on the forms provided at front desk. There is a parent communication book at front desk, this book is up – dated regularly with Centre information and photos for you to read and admire.

Please ring the Centre if your child will be absent through illness, so that we are aware of what is going round. Please leave a message – as we may be busy with the children.

Parents provide all the food for their child, in the named lunchbox provided by the Centre. Please ensure that there is an adequate amount for the length of time your child attends the Centre. Children need enough for morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a pre – tea snack served around 5pm. We promote being a NUT FREE Centre, this includes muesli bars. We do have children attending the Centre with nut allergies.

Parents also provide the formula or milk that they wish their child to be fed. Formula should be made up and sent along in named bottles. The Centre provides water for the children to drink at meal times and if they are thirsty during the day.

Parents are requested to provide adequate clothing for their children that will enable their child’s full participation in physical activity in all weathers. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing”. Also remember our programme will include paint and clay!! Please send a change of clothes each day as sometimes children have an ‘accident’, or get wet with the water etc.

If your child requires medication of any kind please ensure you have signed it in on the Medication List in your child’s classroom, and place in the medication container or in the fridge.

While we welcome your child’s favourite toy or cuddly, we ask that aggressive toys such as guns and swords remain at home.

We look forward to working with you and your child.
